Olympic Essay The history of the winter Olympics is interesting and prestigious. The modern Olympics are one of the most watched sporting events in history. There are many events in the Winter Olympics. They have added many over the years. There fifteen events to participate and they are expected to give out 86 medals to contestants for being the best at their events. My favorite event is hockey. The winter Olympics are fun to watch because of the prestige history in the Olympics, and because I like to watch hockey. First, the first modern Olympics were played in 1896 and were played in Greece because they were the first one to have something like the Olympics. The attracted 14 countries and the most of the athletes came from France, Germany, and Greece. The 241 athletes came some won medals and most of them didn’t. The first events were wrestling, shooting, swimming, fencing, cycling tract and road, athletics, and weightlifting. The athletes won medals for winning there event. Although the Olympics were brought back to world there have been many more Olympics. Second, the most Olympic event that I find appealing is ice hockey. I find ice hockey dun to watch because I play hockey and I can find thing from the game to help my game and also it is very fun to watch the game. The countries predicted to win this event is the U.S.A and Canada because of their skillful ability. The USA national hockey teams practices in Colorado Springs, Chula Vista, and Lake Placid. The USA’s chances of getting a medal is very likely now because they are young and very skilled. The strongest people in this event are Patrick Kane because he is young, quick and he brings life to the locker room. Also Brian Rafalski is a leader because he’s older than all of them and has been in the Olympics. Likewise that is why hockey is my favorite sport in the Olympics. In Conclusion, the Olympics can make and crush dreams. The winter Olympics are fun to watch because of the prestige history in the Olympics, and because I like to watch hockey. The Olympics are one of the funniest things in world.
